With ongoing growth and success based on an outstanding reputation and a commitment to clinical excellence, Wear Referrals, part of the Linnaeus family, are looking to recruit a board-certified or board-eligible small animal neurologist to work with a growing team of neurologists and other specialists.

Wear Referrals is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital just off Junction 60 of the A1 in the north east of England.

Wear Referrals is a multi-disciplinary hospital including specialists in neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and anaesthesia, as well as a cardiology service, out-of- hours emergency service and in-house physiotherapy and hydrotherapy teams.

The hospital facilities include a dedicated ICU staffed 24 hours a day, spacious well-designed wards with many walk-in kennels, in-house 1.5T Siemens Magnetom Essenza MRI, 16 slice Siemens Somatom Emotion helical CT, digital radiography, digital fluoroscopy and a Samsung RS85 ultrasound system. In addition to a dedicated ultrasound room, and CT/MRI control room we have a separate radiology reading room.

The neurology department also has a new Neurosoft 2-machine for electrodiagnostic studies.

The successful applicant will join a growing existing team of diplomates, residency-trained neurologist, neurology interns and will have support from a large dedicated neurology nursing team.

We encourage an evidence-based multi-disciplinary approach, supporting a process of continuous learning and a collegiate atmosphere.  We have an active internship programme and are expanding our residency programmes.  Our extensive clinical caseload will provide an interesting variety of cases and clinical research is actively encouraged and supported. The Linnaeus group provides superb support and facilitates a highly collaborative approach between their hospitals and colleagues.

Applicants must be highly motivated, proactive and passionate about delivering clinical excellence, with excellent social and clinical skills.  This is ideally a full-time role, though applications are welcomed from both part time and full-time applicants.
