Amanda Waibel-Higgins

Veterinary Surgeon - Emergency & OOH

Amanda was born in Switzerland but grew up in South Africa where she also pursued her childhood dream of qualifying as a vet. After qualifying, Amanda spent time doing community work (which has a special place in her heart) in rural South Africa, providing veterinary services and education to communities that had never had this before.

After moving to the UK, Amanda started in mixed practice but soon realised that her true interests lay in emergency and critical care as well as internal medicine. Amanda is currently completing studies in these fields through the University of Edinburgh and using her newfound knowledge in all aspects of veterinary life.

When she is not at work, Amanda loves travelling and spending time with her two little boys, husband and two Retriever cross rescues from South Africa.
