As such, we are committed to improving our environmental performance in relation to our services and operations.

Wear Referrals Environmental Policy
Wear Referrals Veterinary Hospital, part of Linnaeus Veterinary Ltd, opened in 2015, and provide friendly and knowledgeable support from initial advice to care for patients and their owners.
Our core environmental impacts are Climate Change, Waste Management, Responsible Pharmaceutical and Chemical Stewardship. We acknowledge that our operations have an impact on the environment and have identified our key sustainability aspects that contribute to our environment and carbon footprint:
- Accessing sustainability-focused forums and training
- Monitoring key resources and consumption of electricity, gas and water and anaesthetic gases, and targeting areas for reduction in consumption.
- Improve resource management including sustainable procurement choices and waste management plans.
- Carrying out One Health projects
- Supporting sustainable transport options & healthy lifestyles for associates.
- Use of raw materials, including prescribed drugs and medicines. Accepting returns of unused or out-of-date veterinary medicines into our hospital.
- Being compliant with applicable environmental regulations and meeting our clients expectations
Wear Referrals is committed to reducing its environmental impact through continual improvement by working through Investors in the Environment accreditation scheme. Our hospital is registered on the iiE Green Directory.
We communicate this policy to our Associates, ensuring that they are provided with training to increase awareness of environmental matters and opportunities to make changes. We make this policy available to our clients through our practice website and we welcome ideas or questions from clients via our Client Care teams.
