Darren joined the Wear team as Hospital Manager in September 2019 following a 30 year career in different sectors of the retail industry, with the last 15 years in various leadership roles with Health and Beauty chain Boots. He approaches every leadership challenge with a clear focus on sustainable business improvement through coaching and supporting great teams of motivated people to be the best they can be, and a commitment to deliver outstanding customer care.

Darren is really enjoying being in a very different but exciting environment, and working out how to apply his previous experience to benefit the team, customers, and ultimately to deliver the best care for patients in this fantastic hospital.

Outside work Darren loves nothing more than spending time at home with wife Debbie, and seeing as much as possible of the rest of his family, in particular Granddaughter Daisy. He gets his regular exercise from walking with their 2 fun loving, energetic and occasionally crazy German Short Haired Pointers Gracie and Martha. His hobbies include being a member of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
