I first started working for Wear Referrals when I was 18 as an auxiliary nurse. I trained in all departments, developing valuable skills and learning what it meant to be a veterinary nurse before I went on to study my veterinary nursing diploma. I went down the apprenticeship route meaning I was still able to keep in touch with practice whilst gaining my qualification. I worked hard for a further two years before qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse in November 2019. Since then, I have been working to improve my skills, in surgical nursing, ward care and anaesthesia. My confidence and ability has grown massively and continues to do so everyday with the help of Wear Referrals. Now that I have had to find my feet as a RVN I am pursuing a national certificate in animal management and behaviour, as I believe the veterinary industry has a lot of room growth in this department and besides neurological nursing, this is where my passion lies.
