“I am a Lead Laboratory Nurse and have been at Wear Referrals for six years.

“I enjoy running my own department but also appreciate having the encouragement to develop new testing methods which support our patients within the hospital.

“I have a passion for haematology and biochemistry, and making sure our surgeons have the best insight to a patient’s condition.

“Clinically, I have helped various manufacturers develop new testing profiles for their panels, working closely with one in particular to change the algorithms on certain testing to ensure there are more sensitive markers for patient samples.

“I am very Intrigued by studies, so I can often be found working through case reports and journals to find the best ways to benefit patients.  

“At home, I am kept busy with my pet family which include my dog Duchess, two love birds called Apple and Pie, 10-year-old rabbit Mistletoe and two eight-year-old tortoises.”
