Diane Leach

RVN - Feline advocate

Diane joined us here at Wear in September 2020, as part of our Post Registration Programme and has moved onto be a part of our oncology team.

She began her career as an animal care assistant and receptionist at another vet practice while studying for her diploma at Scotland’s Rural College.

As a passionate animal lover, Diane found her true calling in veterinary nursing at a very young age when her horse Rupert played a vital role in her recovery from a brain injury at 17.

Her commitment to improving the welfare of pets as a veterinary nurse stems from her desire to give back to the animals who helped her at such a pivotal point in her life.

Diane is extremely proud to be a part of the Wear Referrals team and is thrilled to have been a part of our Post Registration Programme, which she says helped her gain skills and experience that would otherwise have taken years.

As part of our oncology team, Diane hopes to instil a sense of warmth and positivity in her patients in the hope they will be able to recover quicker. She is committed to supporting our teams in ensuring our patients receive the very best healthcare and support needed in their recovery.

Diane is also looking forward to improving the green spaces around our facility. Biodiversity and positive mental health go hand-in-hand for Diane and she is doing her bit to ensure both colleagues and patients have a positive outlook while at the hospital.
