RVN Deputy Team Leader

I have been at wear referrals just over three years now and have been a qualified veterinary nurse five years this July. I have always had a love for animals since I was small so knew I wanted to work with animals as a job. I then thought about veterinary nursing and how rewarding it would be to be able to help animals in my job. After I qualified I first thought about getting into equine nursing, after this didn't work out I moved to a small private primary care practice, I enjoyed my time there finding my feet in the world of veterinary nursing. After about a year and a half I decided to take the leap into referral nursing a luckily landed myself a job here at wear referrals on the Orthopaedic team. Honestly, when I first arrived I wasn't sure I had made the right decision, everything seemed so big and scary compared to my norm of a little primary care. However, all the staff were lovely and so supportive and through there help, support and some cpd I soon felt like part of the team. As recently being appointed deputy team leader of orthopaedics meant the world to me as it shows the progress I have made as a nurse and gives me the chance to help and support those who make the leap to referral nursing. It also allows my ideas to help improve the team or things I have learnt through cpd be passed on and changes made within the team
