Wear duo earn prestigious industry recognition

We’re so pleased to announce that in the last couple of weeks two of our clinicians have gained extra accreditations.

Jon Hall, one of our enthusiastic and hugely-skilled soft tissue surgeons, is a European and Royal College Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. He has now become a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, having been recognised for his Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice.

The main purpose of the Fellowship is to advance veterinary science and, in the words of the Royal College president at this year’s RCVS Honours announcement, recognises those “who are going above and beyond” and “who have made and are making an indelible impact on veterinary science, the professions, animal health and welfare”.

Jon adds this qualification to a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Educations Academy, which reflects his sustained commitment and excellence in teaching undergraduates, specialist training and postgraduate veterinary qualifications for general practitioners.

Maciej Krukowski, BSAVA certificate holder in Small Animal Surgery now joins RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery Neil Burton, in having completed the BioMedtrix certification programme to perform total hip replacement (THR) surgery.

This advanced surgical procedure is the only treatment that fully restores life-long mobility in dogs with hip osteoarthritis secondary to hip dysplasia; a leading cause of hind-leg lameness in dogs.

More than 95 per cent of the patients who receive a THR should be able to use the new hip for the rest of their lives.

Wear Referrals offer nano, micro, cemented, cementless and hybrid BioMedtrix total hip replacements allowing us to treat all sizes of cats and dogs with this life changing surgery.

Well done to both Jon and Maciej for their achievements, we’re very proud to have them both as part of the team here at Wear Referrals.
